 Cumbrian Beef Silverside 90%, Beef fat 10%, natural sheep casings, malt vinegar, salt, herb and spice extract, sodium metabisulphite, Dextrose, irradiated onion, sodium erythorbate, vegetable oil (canola), MSG flavour enhancer (trace).

As soon as our Biltong is ready its taken out of the dryers and we let it rest a little while before packing it on the same day. Its a known fact that food containing moisture will develop mould so whilst packing we add an oxygen absorber, DO NOT EAT THIS! This absorber helps to remove any oxygen from inside the bag keeping the Biltong fresh until the recommended use by date on the reverse. We suggest that whilst the bag is still sealed store it in a cool, dry place and then when its time to open and indulge, whether as a treat for yourself or sharing with friends, transfer the Biltong to a paper bag, bowl, plate or anywhere where there is less chance for the meat to develop moisture. It can be left in the original packaging but after a few days of opening there is a risk of a moisture build up in these bags, therefore development of mould.

We recommend our Biltong to be eaten within 4 - 6 days of opening.

It is very important to us that we use local Beef therefore our Silverside is sourced from the Shorthorn cattle from Lowther Estates near Penrith and also from the local cattle sourced by Pioneer Foods in Carlisle and Caterite near Keswick. We offer original and chilli flavours either sliced or in sticks for you to slice yourself and we are excited to be expanding our Biltong family to give you our new flavour, Gyros, using spices brought over from Crete. The mix of local, high quality beef along with the African and Greek spices we use give the unmistakable texture and flavour of LAKE DISTRICT BILTONG
